St Canice’s FC make impressive 2-1 winning start

St Canice’s FC got off to a winning start as they returned to the Kilkenny and District League against Castlewarren Celtic FC at the Waterbarracks venue in Kilkenny. Their first game in a number of years saw them take on their opponents in the first round of The Pat Maher Shield. The visitors scored early on but the home side was back level from Tony Marques’s superb freekick. St Canice’s continued to battle and went 2-1 up from a Niall Kiely penalty near the end. St Canice’s FC meets Thomastown UTD at United Park in Thomastown in the next round.
